Uganda's National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (2021) is the country's first national action plan on business and human rights, designed to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Purpose: UN Guiding Principles implementation.
Key Provisions:
- Sets government strategies and the roles of state and non-state actors across eight focus areas: land and natural resources; environment; labour rights; revenue transparency, tax exemptions and corruption; social service delivery by private actors; consumer protection; access to remedy; and women, vulnerable and marginalised groups.
- Commits government to build business capacity on human rights, promote compliance/accountability and disseminate HR guidelines to investors.
- Is largely state-centred: business-facing content is limited to general role statements and planned interventions (e.g. adopting human rights policies), with no dedicated chapter on expectations towards businesses.
