WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), as the coordinator of the DiliCHANCE Project is committed to protecting your personal data. Your personal data are kept confidential and processed in accordance with the provisions of the applicable data protection laws. In fulfillment of the regulations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in particular Article 13 and 14, we would like to inform you about the types of personal data that are processed in connection with the DiliCHANCE project and also about the purposes for which these data are processed.

WHICH TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED?
In the DiliCHANCE project, personal data is collected when registering on the website dilichance.eu or participating in an activity (such as a physical or online event). The data include, for example, full name, email, phone number, organization, country, sector, and industry experience.
FOR WHICH PURPOSES DO WE PROCESS YOUR DATA?
Data will be processed for the implementation, monitoring the correct use of the funds and compliance with the contract terms of the DiliCHANCE project. DiliCHANCE is a major European project that has started in October 2024 and that is funded for three years. In this project a comprehensive one-stop shop for due diligence excellence will be developed. The Projects objectives are to optimize business practices, strengthen assurance measures, and enhance tools and resources.
WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA?

The consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data carried out on the basis of your consent until the withdrawal.
DOES THE PROCESSING INVOLVE ANY AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING (INCLUDING PROFILING)?
No, the use of the website does not involve any automated decision-making (including profiling) within the meaning of Art 22 GDPR. ARE YOU OBLIGATED TO PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL DATA? For the use of the website dilichance.eu and participation in activities, the data subject is required to provide their data (contact details for example).
TO WHICH OTHER PARTIES DO WE PASS ON YOUR DATA?
Relevant personal data will be circulated among consortium parties via secure state-of-the-art channels, if necessary for achieving project outputs. Longer-term sharing of relevant personal data among DiliCHANCE consortium partners will be organised through the server-based and protected Microsoft SharePoint system hosted by WU. Access to the consortium’s SharePoint folders is granted by the coordinator (WU) and linked to specified e-mail accounts of the consortium team members to prohibit access by any entities without permission. Project partners from third countries (Peru and Namibia) will be excluded from access to personal data.
In addition, it may also be necessary to transmit the data to the funding body, the European funding provider or any organizations tasked with managing the funding, and/or to auditors, for the purpose of monitoring the correct use of the funds and compliance with the contract terms and other conditions and requirements that apply to the funding.
The research results presented in the form of publications, academic papers, and/or research reports, etc. do not include any personal details and therefore do not allow for any conclusions to be drawn about you as a person, except upon request, the data will be transmitted to the reviewers selected by the respective publisher for the purpose of proving compliance with the standards of good academic practice.
HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?
Your personal contact data (e.g full name, e-mail address) will be stored until five years after the end of the project and will then be deleted. Personal data which is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims will be stored for a period of five years and will then be deleted. DiliCHANCE reserves the right to perpetually retain your full name and occupation information, as well as content (e.g. video and audio recordigs). Furthermore, the content may be perpetually retained for scientific research purposes in accordance with Article 5 para 1 lit e and Article 89 GDPR.
WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT?
As a data subject in the context of these data processing operations, you have the following rights vis-a-vis WU as the controller: information and access, rectification, deletion, restriction of data processing, data portability, and objection. As a data subject, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
