Fairmined Gold Standard and Associated Precious Metals

Standard for artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector developed by the Alliance for Responsible Mining that defines environmental, labour and trade requirements to "promote the progressive organisation and formalisation" of the sector and improve responsible practices.

What You Need to Know

The standard states that it "adheres to  the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains from Conflict-Affected and High Risk Areas".  The standard also states that it "follows the Guiding principles on the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child" as well as various conventions of the International Labour Organization.
