New IGF report warns of gender in­equal­i­ties in the critical minerals transition

A new IGF report warns that the growing demand for critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel could deepen existing gender inequalities in mining-affected communities. Indigenous and rural women are particularly vulnerable to impacts on land rights, livelihoods, food security, health, and unpaid care work.
