The webinar will examine how these gaps influence the quality of risk identification and decision making, and how enterprises can better integrate gender considerations into their processes and tools. By combining practical examples and stakeholder perspectives, the session aims to support the development of more inclusive and effective Sustainability Due Diligence solutions.
By the end of the webinar, participants should:
- Recognize where gender-related risks and perspectives are missing in existing Sustainability Due Diligence processes and tools.
- Identify opportunities to integrate gender-related risks into data collection, tool design and risk assessment.
- Understand how addressing gender gaps strengthens the credibility and impact of Sustainability Due Diligence solutions.
Speakers and contributions:
- Sophie Rickard is a Policy Analyst at the OECD Centre for Responsible Business Conduct, where she works on due diligence regulation and contributes to the Centre's work on gender. Prior to joining the OECD, Sophie worked on gender in a range of contexts, including as a consultant for the Women's Rights and Mining group on their Guide to Gender & Mining.
- Zenzi Awases is President of the Association of Women in Mining in Africa (AWIMA) and Chairperson of the Women in Mining Association of Namibia (WiMAN). With a background in geology and institutional leadership, she advocates for gender equity and inclusive participation across Africa’s mining sector, supporting more sustainable and socially responsible mineral value chains.
- Madhuparna Datta is an Expert with 25+ years of Experience in the Semiconductor Industry across the UK, India, and Sweden. As an AE Director at Cadence Design Systems, she supports advanced chip and system IP design initiatives. She is also a Global Ambassador for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and a strong advocate for STEM inclusion and semiconductor talent development.
- Ege Tekinbas is the IGF’s Lead for Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, where she supports governments in integrating gender equality and social inclusion into mining governance through policy advice, practical guidance, and capacity building. With more than 20 years of experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social development, she has worked with organizations including UN Women, the World Bank, the European Union, and the Council of Europe. She has also contributed to leading publications on gender and mining governance, helping advance more inclusive and sustainable mining policies worldwide.
