Both within the DiliiCHANCE Project and by GIZ, traceability systems have been tested and assessed. In this workshop, the lead-authors of these reports will share their findings and practical insights for the future development of these systems for tool providers.

Join this workshop to explore the strengths and limitations of traceability systems, the broader structural challenges surrounding traceability implementation, and why technology alone is not enough.

Meet the Experts:

Hans Merket is a Researcher and Policy Manager at the Belgian research institute IPIS. He focuses on the link between natural resources and conflict, development and human rights. Hans has a PhD in law from Ghent University. He concentrates on the impact and effectiveness of efforts to enhance human rights due diligence and the fight against conflict financing and money laundering.

Daniel Monfort is a geological engineer working at BRGM (Bureau de recherches géologiques et minières) as a project manager for both European and French initiatives. He currently coordinates the Horizon Europe MaDiTraCe project on the traceability of battery raw materials for a sustainable supply chain and is also a project partner in the DiliCHANCE project.
