The Due Diligence Assessment Framework for the Renewable Energy Sector is a Dutch tool that helps wind and solar companies assess and improve how they manage human rights, environmental, and biodiversity risks in their supply chains.

A framework for renewable energy companies to assess and improve responsible business conduct, based on OECD guidelines.
Process:
- Annual Self-Assessment: Companies complete a questionnaire.
- Action Plan: Companies set targets for due diligence improvement.
- Interview & Validation: Secretariat reviews progress and provides advice.
Scoring:
Each company can achieve up to 88 points, corresponding to five maturity levels - Beginner, Improving, Intermediate, Advanced, and Leader. Scores reflect the degree of due diligence implementation and are used to benchmark performance across the sector.
Relevance:
Although voluntary, the framework has gained regulatory significance. It is now referenced in Dutch offshore wind tender requirements and aligns with upcoming EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) obligations.
