Women in Ghana break barriers in the mining industry

A Solidaridad project is training young women in Ghana’s mining communities to operate heavy machinery, a field once reserved for men. With hands-on education and support, women are gaining the skills and confidence to secure better-paying jobs. The initiative is also addressing social challenges like early pregnancy and financial exclusion. Backed by Kering, the programme is opening new paths for women to thrive and lead in the mining sector.
