UNDP tool guides companies on human rights and environmental due diligence
UNDP has released a Practical Tool to help businesses integrate environmental considerations into their human rights due diligence processes, including guidance on identifying, preventing, mitigating, and reporting adverse environmental impacts that affect human rights. Developed from interviews with over 200 stakeholders, the tool supports compliance with the emerging right to a healthy environment and can be used by governments, investors, civil society, and human rights defenders. It offers practical advice and real-world examples to enhance the implementation of human rights and environmental due diligence across diverse sectors.
