European business leaders see sustainability rules as a driver of competitiveness
A new YouGov survey commissioned by E3G shows that European business leaders strongly link sustainability with competitiveness. Over half of respondents said environmental sustainability improves their company’s reputation, profitability, and investment opportunities. Most support keeping strong EU due diligence and sustainability reporting rules, seeing them as drivers of long-term competitiveness and global leadership. However, many warned that recent “Omnibus” proposals risk creating legal uncertainty and misalignment with international standards, potentially delaying investment decisions.
