Europe gains new insight into secondary raw materials with the Urban Mine Platform
The Urban Mine Platform provides clear data on secondary raw materials across Europe, focusing on key waste streams such as batteries, wind turbines, construction waste, and electronics. Developed through the FutuRaM project, it shows how much material is placed on the market, stored in products, and generated as waste, using scenarios that project trends up to 2050. The platform allows users to explore raw material content and recoverability through interactive tools and downloadable datasets. FutuRaM also uses a United Nations method to assess whether recovering materials from waste is technically possible, economically viable, and socially and environmentally responsible.
